Mommifaceted: Black Working Mom Podcast

Feb 22, 2018

Hello everyone!

This week has been very eye opening. I have been doing some introspective thinking about the brand and where I want it to go and the direction that I believe God is leading me and I can tell that I'm so close to figuring out that exact path.

Have you ever had that feeling? Where your ideas are great and you know they could work, but they are not 100% the right idea? But, the ideas keep getting better and better - so that's how I know I'm on the right track. I was riding in my car on the way home, I have about a 45 minute commute to and from work each day. On this particular day, I must have come up with 5 new ideas for content, other Facebook and Instagram live recordings that I want to do, they type of guests I want to invite to the show. So, this is all very exciting and I'm definitely moving in the right direction. Now I am just meditating each day and waiting for God to reveal the BIG project that I need to work on. Right now, I have plenty of forward moving tasks to do, but I'm expecting him to remove the fog and make it clear and plain what the big vision is. I definitely want to get the sign off before I go traipsing through a plan that I created within myself - because that is not going to lead to the highest success.

One thing I do know for sure, is that I'm going to require some automation and documented processes. Which is what I talked to Sharon Hadden about on this week's Facebook live. I am sharing the replay here because she gave so much information and actual tools that she uses for her business and her clients.

Sharon Hadden is the owner of Social Savvy Consulting Group. She is a storyteller and lead generator all in one. She guides marketing efforts across social, digital, and in-person channels for women led small businesses. Sharon helps women in business leverage the power of social marketing, influencer marketing, copywriting and content strategy.

In the episode we talk about how important it is to have automatic responses when you are interacting with your customers and making the payment system automated so that you get paid correctly and on time. We discuss why documenting processes should become a top priority in your business to save you time and money when you could be spending time in your craft and bringing in more business. I asked her what things shouldn't be automated - and she talks about something that should not be automated - something that I am guilty of with my social media platforms. Lastly, we dive into passive income generators. Sharon believes that everyone you know is earning passive income - which I find interesting and true in the way she looks at it.

Sharon's Bio:

Sharon is a writer first, by passion and profession. Her superpower is storytelling and lead generation. For a number of years, Sharon worked with the FBI to manage media, public affairs and community relations.

Small businesses turn to Sharon when they need guidance on integrating their marketing efforts across social, digital and in-person channels. With a Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University, and a specialization in content strategy and social marketing, Sharon helps women in business leverage the power of social marketing, influencer marketing, copywriting and content strategy.

For as long as she can remember, Sharon has been an entrepreneur at heart. Her parents still embarrass her with stories of selling her Halloween candy to fellow kindergarteners or hand-printing a neighborhood newsletter at the ripe old age of 7 years-old.

Sharon lives in San Jose, CA, and founded the agency in 2011, while living in Washington, DC. Her background in public relations is the key to her success at creating marketing and social media campaigns that build loyalty and excite customers.

Sharon has been a licensed cosmetologist for over 10 years and has a passion for beauty, health and wellness. She's a subscription box addict, and loves the novelty and convenience that retail subscription services provide.
