You may be in one of these situations during Christmas:

  • Missing family that has passed away and you are suffering from grief
  • Family is fighting or doesn't get along
  • You are alone with your children
  • You live in a different state than your family and cannot visit

How you can survive and still enjoy your holiday!

Matthew 1:21

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

Matthew 6:33

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Jesus is still the reason we celebrate Christmas and that doesn't change.

Isaiah 58:11

The Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

Know that other times can be special family gatherings if it works better for you.

We can make our own traditions.

Philippians 4:19

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

It's a good time to spend your holiday with the people you want to be around - it may or may not be those you expected to be with, but choose who you want to surround yourself with.

Also, talk about your feelings, don't try to overdo it, and continue to be thankful - your children are learning how to celebrate despite what's "supposed" to happen.
